First of all visit this link and click on "Create Account" to create an account on the site.

Now, on the next window, enter a username, password and your email address.

Press on "Create" once you are done entering the information.

On the next window, you'll be asked to enter your zip code. What happens here is that the site provides you with your own US number so that the same number will be used when you send SMS's. As of now, it only lets you have a US number. You can enter any of the following US zip codes on the text box : 53551, 47714, 47715. If you want then you can look for others as well. After you have entered your gender and age, click on Find.

The site will now display a list of numbers. You can choose any number from that list and that will be your permanent number. The same number will be used to send SMS's from your account.

Click on "Confirm" once you select your number.

Once on the next window, click on the "+" sign (outlined on the image below.)

Now enter the number you want to send SMS to on the text box saying "Send text to" and press OK.

Enter your message and click on "Send".

Congratulations! Your message has been sent. You should receive it in a few seconds. By the way you can remove the "Sent from Textfree web" and add your own signature by going to Options. Enjoy!
